Cari Nelson

Born in the small midwest town of Harlan, Iowa, Cari always believed that she’d follow her creative passion to a big city.  In 2002, she moved to Los Angeles at just 18 years old, determined to forge a career in wardrobe styling.  With a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from California State University, she gained industry experience freelancing, interning, and working in editorial across Hearst publications.

In 2004 while working at LA Fashion Week, Cari boldly approached two stylists to share her aspirations, gaining two mentors who opened the door to the entertainment industry, leading to a personal styling business featuring an A-list clientele. In 2019, Cari moved to Atlanta with her husband, two daughters, and cat, Sebastian.  She joined The Spin Style team in 2021 after a much anticipated meeting with Darclie Adler.  Her work has spanned commercials, print advertisements, editorial, red carpet, music videos and films while continuing to grow her personal styling business.

A lover of sourcing vintage fashions and avid hat collector,  her creative approach is self-described as a convex of what’s current while giving a much appreciated nod to the past, putting her personal stamp on every project.
